Door Linkage Automation Cell

Our customer needed a solution for wire bending and performing secondary processes for a very large array of door linkages. Parts were being completed on multiple fully attended machines. Our solution was to use our intellimate robot package with quick-change grippers to connect seamlessly from our i10-S² bender to perform all their secondary operations in-line in a perfect lean cell - eliminating most of the labor cost and freed up valuable floor space.

This was a perfect application for our iFM 10-4-3 3-axis machining center which could make our customer’s unique machined burr-free profile concurrent to the bending process. By integrating an air-over-oil press, we created an end forming detail with minimal cost and space over a full-size press and our chamfering unit saved a ton of labor which was utilized elsewhere in their plant.

This type of cell is perfect for part families with secondary processes. Customers love how easy it is for the intellibend software to associate each part with a robot program for fast changeovers. Our intellibend robot package features Fanuc robots, and training at a Fanuc training center is included as is training for operators.

The iFM features simplified programming with preset motions to select for: threading, milling, drilling and circular profiling, and still provides full control of spindle and cutting speeds for optimizing to your application.
